5.(b) The Player and the Club recognize and agree that the Players participation in certain other sports may impair or destroy his ability and skill as a baseball player- Accordingly^ the Player agrees that he will not engage in professional boxing or wrestling; and that, except with the written consent of the Chib，he will not engage in skiing, auto racing, motorcycle racing, sky diving, or in any game or exhibition of football，soccer, professional league basketball, ice hockey or other sport involving a substantial risk of personal injury.
大聯盟標準球員合約亦作大聯盟球員定型化契約，其中條款約制球員於與球團訂約期間不得從事下列運動：職業拳賽、賽車、摩托車賽、高空跳傘、美式足球正賽與表演賽、足球賽、職業籃球賽、冰上曲棍球賽或造成個人受傷實質危險之其他運動，因上開運動會損及甚至會摧毀球員的運動生命。球員係球團甚至是整個聯盟的資產，更是賽事票房的萬靈丹，當然需要保護。
